The Case for Carolina

A solid running game and a tough defense are 2 key ingredients I like in a live Dog. Clearly the Panthers will run the ball effectively. If Davis plays, I don't think he will be 100%. But Foster was pretty impressive vs the Rams. One concern is that Foster has had fumble problems before. If Carolina doesn't turn the ball over and Kasay can make his kicks, in the wind, they should be in this one until the final gun. QB Delhome is an underrated playmaker. Smith is really scary also.
On the other side of the ball, Panthers are very solid up front. They didn't let McNabb break for long runs in the 1st game. They can contain him with their speed. Eagles will have to get the running game going to keep the defense honest.
Panthers explosive return game gives them a slight special teams edge.

Conclusion: This will be a tough, hard-hitting affair. I think the strong willed Eagles will find a way to win in the end. Carolina will be game and stay near the spread here. Car is 5-1 SU & ATS as a Dog. You get revenge plus points here. But, the 3rd time's the charm for Philly.

THe panthersd have alot going for them.

1. THe eagles are playing pretty average, not bad, I admire reid and the team, but they are not at there best right now.

2. Eagles have key injuries on the offense, LB, and secondary.

3. Fox was very good against Mcnabb as the giants DC

4. Eagles home field advantage has been pretyy average so far in the new building.

5. The eagles have more pressure on them, than all the other remaining teams, especially the cindarella panthers.

6. Jenkins, Peppers Rucker...could you ask for a better front line to against the talented MCnabb


I like Philly as a team, but I think this game is a toss-up for the time being. Philly, is probably the better team in a (if they played 100 times they would win 60 type of way)

but the situation makes them a live dog.

I think they have a 50% cahnce of winning this game. If Mcnabb takes it home, It will be a huge moment in his carrer, and I wont be surprised, but I have to taKE THE POINTS HERE.
